Individual Therapy

As women, we often put ourselves last. But sooner or later, something gives. When you’re carrying so much, it’s no wonder you feel numb, frustrated, or like you can’t catch your breath. You don’t have to keep running on empty. You deserve to feel grounded and at peace.

If you’re looking for support, individual therapy is at the core of what Still & South Counseling does. Our sessions are an hour each week (sometimes less) that’s devoted to you. Your time is limited and valuable, which is why I only use evidence-based techniques. Research shows these methods work.

Reach out to schedule a consult. It's the first step towards quieting the noise and finding your direction.

FAQs

  • Like many private therapy practices, Still & South Counseling is primarily self pay. We do accept a few insurance plans, which you can check here.

Please know that if you plan to use insurance, rates and the number of covered sessions are at the sole discretion of your insurance provider. Be advised that when you pay through insurance, a diagnosis of mental illness must be made and submitted for billing.

  • The first step is to complete our contact form. Allison will reach out to schedule a free 20-minute consultation. In the consult, you’ll talk through why you’re looking to start therapy, your goals, and any questions you may have. Once you’re ready to get started, we’ll schedule your first appointment.

At this time, Still & South Counseling is accepting new clients.

  • Still & South Counseling focuses on providing individual therapy to adults (age 17 and up). Clients come to therapy for a range of reasons, including sadness, feeling overwhelmed, major life changes, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.

Allison J. Rogers of Still & South Counseling is trained and certified in a number of evidence-based practices but tends to favor Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing in her work with clients. These techniques are supported by a large body of research proving their effectiveness.

We may occasionally offer group therapy as an option to clients with similar concerns.

We do not offer couples/marriage counseling or counseling for children at this time.

  • Each appointment is about an hour, and most clients do therapy once per week. However, because each person’s plan is tailored to their unique concerns and goals, we will decide on the right schedule for you.

Therapy is designed to support you and leave you feeling set up for success. For some clients, that might mean we work together for a month, and for others it could be a year or more. There’s no right or wrong answer. On average, expect to attend weekly therapy for at least a couple of months. Learning to process our feelings and change behaviors takes time, but it is so worth it!

  • Still & South Counseling is licensed to provide therapy throughout South Carolina and Virginia. To meet you where you are and facilitate a more comfortable setting, I prioritize virtual therapy sessions.

That said, if you are local to Florence, SC and are interested in meeting in person, reach out and we can discuss it!

Still & South Counseling is not a crisis counseling center. If you are worried you may hurt yourself or someone else, call 911.

Other helpful resources are your local emergency room or text/call 988.

Other Offerings

Group Therapy

When I have clients with similar goals and concerns, group therapy may be available. Group settings allow you to practice setting boundaries, communicating assertively, and giving/receiving feedback, all while having a team to celebrate wins with you!

I will provide rates when/if this becomes an option for existing clients.

Clinical Supervision

For dedicated professionals working towards their next level of licensure, I offer Licensed Independent Social Worker and Licensed Addiction Counselor supervision. Supervision is a chance to grow and find your direction as a counselor. You can expect to talk through case conceptualization, examine biases, discuss therapeutic techniques, and review diagnoses. No debate is too big, and no question is too silly.

Please reach out for rates and scheduling.
